The monarch delivered her Christmas message after joining other members of the royal family at Sandringham to celebrate Christmas Day.

In September 2022, after the death of his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, Charles' second festive address of his reign – delivered at 3pm on Monday in the central room of Buckingham Palace, opened and decorated on the famous balcony overlooking the Mall. Replanted with live Christmas tree.

He called on people to protect each other, delivered a powerful message about the environment and praised volunteers who serve communities across the country.

Earlier, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis joined Charles and Camilla for a morning service at St Mary Magdalene Church.

It comes after the King and Queen waved to well-wishers as they attended a Christmas Eve service at the church on Sunday.

A Royal Christmas traditionally features greetings from people outside the church and a family lunch with turkey and all the trimmings.

Sandringham House has been the private home of four generations of British monarchs for more than 160 years and is now owned by the monarch.

King Charles, who launched his Coronation Meals program in November, said “we need to find ways to support those less fortunate than ourselves” to support charities that provide unwanted items to the underprivileged.

“My wife and I were delighted that hundreds of representatives of that army of selfless people – volunteers who serve their communities in so many ways and so many different ways – joined us at the Coronation in Westminster Abbey earlier this year. They are the essential backbone of our society.
