At 8:55 a.m. Sunday, authorities received a 911 call about a snowgate, a snow removal device, and a pedestrian involved in a crash on Mount Rose Highway, Washoe County Sheriff Darrin Balam said at a news conference Tuesday.

The 51-year-old actor has undergone two surgeries so far to address his injuries, a source close to the actor told CNN.
On Tuesday, Renner was awake and talking to first responders when they arrived at the scene, Bielem said.
When Renner was injured, his neighbors helped and brought towels while he waited for first responders, Bielem added.
The sheriff’s office previously said in a news release that the actor was the only person involved in the crash.
A helicopter landed near the highway at 9:37 a.m., and at 9:56 PT, Renner was taken to a Reno-area hospital, Balaam said.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is currently in possession of Renner’s snowcat and is analyzing it to “rule out any possible mechanical failure,” which is a normal part of an investigation with the severity of the injuries, Balaam said.
Balaam said Renner was allowed to operate the snowgate because it was on a private road shared by his neighbors and not maintained by the county.
“He was a great neighbor, and he was plowing those roads for his neighbor,” Balaam said.
According to Balaam, authorities do not suspect any foul play.
