“He hit three in one day – he’ll never forget and the people here probably won’t,” Boon added.
After his third home run of the day, Rice was shown the way by his veteran teammates, who rushed him out of the dugout to address the cheering fans at Yankee Stadium.
Rice took off his helmet and waved to the crowd as they cheered on their rising star.
“Honestly, it all happened so fast,” Rice said, according to MLB. “I think I’m still coming off the high of hitting a home run. I was walking through the dugout, and then I heard everybody yelling at me to do something. I didn’t even know what they were talking about, but as they slowly walked me up the steps, I was like, ‘Oh , dude, that’s a cool call.
