Colorado’s Shiloh Sanders was disqualified in the first half against UCLA

With UCLA up 7-6 and in Colorado territory late in the second quarter, Bruins quarterback Ethan Garbers found running back Carson Ryan on a pass down the middle of the field. Running full speed toward Ryan, Sanders appeared to have a shoulder-to-shoulder lead on the win. But during contact, Sanders’ helmet hit Ryan.

As flags flew toward Sanders following the tackle, Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders’ son was moved to celebrate what had been a third-down stop. The play was reviewed and upheld for targeting, giving the Bruins a first down and sending Shiloh Sanders to the rest of the game.

Sanders has 36 tackles, one forced fumble and one interception this season.

The Buffaloes are 4-3 under Deion Sanders after starting 3-0 this season. With five games remaining, Colorado needs two more wins to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2020 and a year after the Buffaloes went 1-11.
